East Jakarta Deploys 177 Officers to Inspect Sacrificial Animals

The East Jakarta City Government released 177 officers to inspect sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah at the Mayor's Office. The release was conducted directly by the Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development (Ekbang) of East Jakarta City, Fauzi.

carry out your duties well

Fauzi said that these officers will be tasked with checking the health of animals and the suitability of sacrificial meat at various slaughter locations, from mosques, prayer rooms, schools, offices to residential areas.

Over 41,000 Sacrificial Animals Inspected in Jakarta

He added the officers will carry out their duties until D+3 of Eid al-Adha or until the process of slaughtering the sacrificial animals is completed.

"Please carry out your duties well, as not everyone has the authority to inspect sacrificial animals and meat. Therefore, make the most of this opportunity and carry out your duties diligently," he said, Monday (5/25).

He hopes that all officers can ensure that the sacrificial animals being inspected are in good health and that the meat being distributed to the public is safe and fit for consumption.

Meanwhile, Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Section of the East Jakarta Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency, Theresia Ellita explained that the 177 officers came from various elements, including the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (PDHI), the IPB School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedicine, the KPKP Agency, and the KPKP Sub-agency.

"We are also assisted by elements of the Saka Taruna Bumi Kwarcab Pramuka East Jakarta who helped with the data collection and documentation process for the activities," she stated.

This year, the team is targeting inspections at around 250 locations where sacrificial animals are slaughtered throughout East Jakarta.

"The large number of inspection locations is due to the high demand from the public for officers to also check the health of animals and sacrificial meat in their environment, especially in mosques, prayer rooms, schools and offices," she admitted.
